George's Subs & Pizza

121 W High St Carlisle

See the route.

Started by a WWII Pacific War veteran in 1958, George's Subs & Pizza was one of the first places to serve pizza in Carlisle.  Their unique New England Style subs are a must-try, and they still serve some of the best pizza in town.

Every town has its favorite haunts, and George's is certainly one of those in Carlisle.  High schoolers who started going to George's in the late 1950s during their lunch hour still eat there 60 years later, which is a testament to what this family-owned and operated pizza joint means to Carlisle.  They have served pizza, subs, and stromboli to generations of Carlisle locals and Dickinson students alike.

Although you can get your sub any way you like it at George's, their specialty is a New England-style sub.  You've never had anything quite like it, so they are a must try in downtown Carlisle.  Their pizza is hard to beat as well, and they offer $1.00 pizza slice days on Tuesdays.  George's also offers strombolis, salads, hot dogs, fries, tenders, and more.

You can enjoy their specialties while eating in their dining room, decorated with photos of locals from throughout the decades, or as takeout.  Fair warning, though, they're pretty busy on Friday and Saturday nights, so place your order early!  Off-street parking is available behind their restaurant off of Dickinson Avenu
