Halloweekend

Experience downtown Carlisle as it transforms for a spooktacular Halloween weekend each third weekend of October.

Destination Carlisle, with the help of our downtown neighbors, hosts a weekend of Halloween and fall fun in Carlisle every third weekend of October. Those who venture out during Halloweekend have called downtown Carlisle "our very own Halloweentown" and said downtown looked like it was in "a Hallmark movie". We decorate each lamp post with lights and pumpkin wreaths, cover fences and gates with cobwebs, and our businesses and organizations decorate their locations and windows to help enhance the ambiance. The public gets to judge which display they think is the most fangtastic. At night, lighted pumpkins form a path around downtown, and you can add your pumpkins to help us light the way! See our Pumpkin Path page for details on how to add your gourds to downtown's display. While you're strolling around at night, you might encounter our friendly town ghosts, who will entertain you with tales from Carlisle's past. On Saturday afternoon, downtown participates in Georgie Lou's Retro Candy's Spooky Saturday, a daylight trick-or-treat event for children.

Throughout the weekend, more than 12 photo ops, games, entertainment, and limited time offers of specially-themed drinks and food are available throughout downtown. While costumes are encouraged for the weekend, we always ask that adults not wear scary costumes of any kind, as this is a family-friendly event. Dogs are discouraged from the event because of the outside displays, pumpkins, and narrowed sidewalks due to restaurant outdoor seating. Details for Halloweekend begin to emerge in early September each year on our facebook page.
