The Pomfret Group, a non-profit organization of merchants, dedicates itself to improving its neighborhood and beautifying its street with imaginative colorful public art.

A highlight of Pomfet Street's public art are the hand-painted carousel horses that are corralled outside several businesses.  Each one is unique and created to please the passerby, and they are perfect backdrops for selfies and social media posts.  So if you're looking for instagrammable moments in downtown Carlisle, head to West Pomfret Street and look for the painted ponies!
